We Stumbled Upon What Must Be The New Ford Ranger's Launch Date

So we stumbled upon this unlisted video in YouTube, and it seems like a part of what must be the launch gambit for the new 2015 Ford Ranger. As you can see, the cat's out of the bag on the pickup truck's local launch date, even though it looks like some pre-cut. 

The Ford Ranger facelift first made its global debut in Thailand during the 2015 Bangkok Motor Show back in March and is said to offer more refinement as well as a range of new features which Ford claims are a segment first.

This includes an improvement to the Duratorq powerplants on offer with both the 2.2-litre four-cylinder and 3.2-litre five-cylinder mills being more efficient than before. A 'high-efficiency' 2.2-litre diesel engine is also part of the engine lineup as is a 2.5-litre Duratec four-cylinder petrol engine was also part of the lineup during its global unveiling. According to Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC), the local distributor of Ford vehicles in Malaysia, only the three diesel variants will be available at launch.

Inside, the cabin gets reworked as well to offer a cleaner design as well with the Ford SYNC 2 infotainment system up front and center. A new steering and materials used are also part of the changes here. Driver assistance features like Lane Keeping Alert and Lane Keeping Aid; Adaptive Cruise Control; and Forward Alert are also available although we'll have to wait and see if SDAC will specify them on our local model.

Apart from the standard variants, the range-topping Wildtrak variant is also a definite, but we'll leave it to the launch day on 9 October 2015 for final details.
