The 86 is a car that possesses all the ingredients that make for a fun time. Lightweight, rear-wheel drive, and good handling with just about enough power to give you fun at a speed that won't get you a ticket. There has been lots of debate over whether the 86 could use more power, but personally, as the platform is arguably one of the easiest to modify and upgrade, it should be relatively easy and inexpensive to make your car truly your own. The interior quality by today's standards is quite far from ideal, however luxury and comfort isn't really what this car is for. It's really for that driving experience and thrill of cornering through the mountains and back roads. The handling ability of the car is confidence-inspiring as it gives the driver the choice to either grip the road as hard as needed, or let the back out loose if so desired. The design is decent, nothing to write home about, but to me, is still quite a handsome car. All in all, the 86 is a solid car for what it is, and is a well-rounded car, but could definitely use some updates and improvements (possibly with the second generation?) Less

Been working hard in between those years so that I can one day call myself a proud owner of the Toyota 86 - and dreams do come true! Impressive handling, stability and reliability are the main selling points of this car (I would say aesthetics as well but I know it's subjective). The only downside I could think of - needs more torque (not horsepower). To sum up my experience with the Toyota 86 - No Regrets! Less

I would say for the market price of the GT86 right now, nothing beats the handling of this car, 200 HP might not be much but it's more than enough to suffice everyday driving without sacrificing fun

The aftermarket parts available for this car is just insane, you can have upgrades and modifications on it as the chassis is made to handle more. But all in all, the interior is not as flashy, theres bits of plastics here and there but for the driving enjoyment it gives me, I dont mind it one bit! Less
