Safety wise, it's very far behind the competitors in its class with only a minimal amount of airbags and no active safety features at the time of purchase. Exterior design is alright but the interior design is horrendous with subpar infotainment system that's a plague to use. Interior chrome finishing is punishing under bright sunlight and overall fit and finish isn't very good. Too many plastic bits and pieces everywhere. Plus points for the size and space. Seats are firm but bearable. Less

More More »I have owned this 2015 xtrail for almost 4 years now. Honestly, I still think it looks pretty good compared to similar segment suv such as Crv and cx5. Recently, Nissan have just launched the facelift xtrail in year 2019 and personally I think the look is not too different. But in terms safety, it’s much better as my 2015 xtrail have only 2 airbags. As for the performance, xtrail drives really smooth and stable. But because it got this cvt gearbox, I can’t immediately get it going really quick, I got to slowly step on the pedal and it will smoothly go. So for those who want something fast perhaps you can go for cx5. In terms of reliability, I don’t really have any major issues. It’s just some dashboard rattling noise which occasionally occur. And I gave up asking the service center to solve it for me as I have asked more than 6 times. Other than that, it’s still working fine. I drive it almost every day and i have drove it for about 120000 km now. As for comfort, the seat is really nice to sit on. It holds my body well and I don’t really feel tired after hours of driving. But the original tyre noise is a little loud, after changing it, the tyre noise improved a lot. Sometimes I do hear rattling noise from the door, I believed it’s the wire vibrating against the steel door. If you put on the volume a little loud, it rattles too. After installing soundproofing on the doors, everything settled. Overall, I find my xtrail 2015 still relevant in year 2019. I foresee myself driving this car for another 2 to 3 years before considering changing another car. By then, perhaps xtrail will have an entire new model launched. Less
