Up for sale is my extremely rare 2011 Mercedes E250 CGI Cabriolet.

It has been fully maintained, by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, with no expense spared and drives beautifully. The bodywork is in fantastic condition with original paint (obsidian black) being kept under a layer of full body wrap (matte maroon) and the car looks stunning, with little to no dings or even scratches. The car is always parked under the roof (I live in a condo and have a reserved parking lot at work). The interior is in superb condition and the optional AMG alloys show little sign of kerbing.

This is a very reliable Mercedes-Benz, even with it being convertible. The soft-top roof is in sublime condition, it went through a minor refurbishment end of last year. It is hard to argue with a car that feels this solid. It is powered by a 1.8-litre turbocharged engine which pushes out 184 bhp and 270 Nm of torque and manages a sub-8 second sprint to 100km/h. With all that performance, driven sedately it’ll return a tried and tested combined fuel consumption from 12.7 to 13.5 km/l.

Opposed to the SLK, you get four full seats (rear seats, seat a 6-footer with ease). The resulting airiness emphasizes this Merc’s generously spaced interior and puts driver and occupants at ease. The dash design is pleasant and ergonomically perfect. Tasteful dark soft touch plastic trim and bits of silver work well together and the instruments, stacked Porsche style, are classy and legible. I found my perfect driving position with the electronically adjustable steering and seats.

Long drives are made effortlessly with this Merc’s ability to cover big miles with ease. I barely feel the highway expansion joints and the car remained relatively flat even in the bigger corners; no boat like wallowing here. However, the optional AMG alloys and performance tyres do create a slightly bumpy ride, a minor trade-off for confident cornering.

Mileage might go up slightly with occasional use during the weekends.
