For those driving through the KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway (Latar), the highway concessionaire will be offering a special National Day giveaway for 1,000 lucky motorists: a free RM10 Touch ‘n Go card.
The cards, worth RM10,000 in total, will be given out on August 31st from 12am onwards to motorists paying through the cash-only ‘Tunai’ lane so that they will jump on-board the cashless highway bandwagon, according to a report by The Sun Daily.
The full implementation of the electronic toll system in Malaysia is set to be in early 2016, and this is another step in further encouraging the public to transition before the policy comes into effect.
CEO of the KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway Berhad, Ahmad Fuad Ahmad Shahimi, said: “The use of Touch ‘n Go cards or SmartTAGs will definitely ease the traffic at all highways, facilitate faster transaction and avoid having long queues at the toll plazas, especially the cash lanes.”
