2017 All-New Peugeot 3008 Launched In Malaysia - RM143k Onwards

Nasim Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of the Peugeot brand in Malaysia, has introduced the all-new Peugeot 3008 SUV for the Malaysian market. The 3008 SUV is fourth Peugeot product to be introduced in 2017, after the refreshed 208 hatch, 2008 crossover and 208 GTi hot-hatch.

The second-generation 3008 is based on Peugeot’s Efficient Modular Platform (EMP2) underpinnings, also shared with 308 hatch and 408 sedan models. The fully-imported (CBU) Peugeot 3008 is offered to the Malaysian market in two variants, priced as follows:

• Peugeot 3008 Activ: RM142,888
• Peugeot 3008 Allure: RM155,888

Measuring 4,447 mm in length, 1,841 mm width and 1624 mm in height – the Peugeot 3008 SUV will contest established rivals such as the Mazda CX-5 and Honda CR-V. Comparatively, the CR-V measures 4584 mm in length, 1855 mm in width and 1679 mm in height which makes it longer, wider and taller than the 3008, but, the 3008 has a longer wheelbase of 2,675 mm (versus the CR-V’s 2660 mm) which aids cabin space.

In addition to rugged exterior design which adopts the marque’s latest design language, the 3008 boasts new premium tech such as full LED headlights with sequential Scrolling Indicators, and a new signature 3D rear ‘claw’ taillight.

On the inside – the 3008 features the latest generation Peugeot ‘i-Cockpit’ architecture – combining a compact steering wheel and a 12.3-inch digital Head-Up Display (HUD) screen that displays various driving information. The HUD modes are operated using the control wheel located on the left of the steering wheel.

The 3008’s dashboard is cleverly finished with fabric on the dashboard and door panels to give the cockpit and overall premium feel. Other notable features include USB and Bluetooth connectivity, Apple Carplay and Android Auto compatibility, automatic dual zone air-conditioning and six-speaker Arkamys sound system.

The boot features 590-litres of loading volume, with both rear seats with split-folded, total storage is increased to 1,670 litres.

The Peugeot 3008 is equipped with a suite of safety equipment consisting 6 airbags, ABD, EBD, Traction Control and Stability Control. Other active safety features include Advanced Grip Control and the Hill Assist Descent Control (HADC) and Park Assist system which includes a rear-camera.

Under the hood, the All-New 3008 SUV comes equipped with a turbocharged 1.6-litre (THP) engine which produces 167 PS and 240 Nm of torque. The engine sends power to a 6-speed automatic that drives the front wheels. Peugeot claim the 3008 will hit 100 km/h from standstill in 8.9 seconds and top out at 211 km/h. Fuel economy is rated at 7.0 litres/100km.

The 3008 is available in five colours - Metallic Copper, Magnetic Blue, Amazonite Grey, Ultimate Red and Pearl White. All Peugeot 3008s come with a five-year manufacturer’s warranty and Nasim’s 24-hours Peugeot Assistance service.
