2018 Ford Everest Facelift Debuts With New EcoBlue Powertrain

Ford Thailand has just unveiled the Everest facelift, which includes updated styling, added equipment, and the new EcoBlue powertrain.

The EcoBlue powertrain is similar to the one found in the new Ranger Raptor, churning out 180 hp when in the single turbo configuration, while the twin-turbo version does 213 hp. The new 2.0-litre EcoBlue four-cylinder diesel unit replaces both of the Everest’s earlier engines, the 2.2- and 3.2-litre TDCi units.

In addition to the new engine, Ford has also ditched the old 6-speed automatic, replacing it with a new 10-speed automatic, also from the Ranger Raptor. The 10-speed automatic sends power either to the rear or all four wheels, depending on variant.

New equipment in the updated Everest include the Ford SYNC 3 infotainment system, handsfree powered tailgate, tire pressure monitoring system, and keyless entry with push start button. Additionally, the facelifted Everest also gains more driver aids including Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW).

Visually, the facelifted Ford Everest features a revised front end with a new grille and bumper design. The Titanium+ variant of the Everest also gains new 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

According to Bangkokpost, the new EcoBlue powertrain will also find its way to the regular Ford Ranger, but will only be limited to upper variants in the range.
