Ford Ranger Sales Surge as Strong Demand Continues

Sime Darby Auto Connexion, the authorized distributor of Ford vehicles in Malaysia recently announced that the Ford Ranger pickup truck is continuing to build on its popularity in Malaysia.

In the first quarter of 2019, the Ranger boosted its market share in the pickup truck segment to 20.1%, which is 4.8% higher than the same period last year.

“We are delighted with the strength in demand of the new Ford Ranger lineup, in particular the response to the Ranger Raptor, which has opened a new segment for the pickup truck category – premium performance truck,” said Syed Ahmad Muzri Bin Syed Faiz, Managing Director, Sime Darby Auto ConneXion.

Available in nine variants, the Ford Ranger is priced between RM103,888 (Ranger XL) and RM199,888 (Ranger Raptor) in Malaysia.

The Ranger has also earned numerous awards in Malaysia since its debut in 2012, including the ‘Pickup Truck of the Year’ at the Carlist.my People’s Choice Awards & Editors’ Choice Award in 2018.

Speaking of the Ranger, SDAC has also just concluded the ‘Buy a new Ranger and win a Ranger Raptor’ contest.

The contest, which ran from 25th October 2018 to 31st January 2019 in conjunction with the launch of the New Ford Ranger, saw Shahrul Iman bin Sulaiman from Pahang who purchased a Ranger XLT Plus emerging as the winner.
