Geneva 2017: Jaguar's First Ever Electric Vehicle to 'Pounce' into Production by 2018

First unveiled last November, the Jaguar i-Pace, which is the brand’s first ever electric vehicle, made its European debut in Geneva earlier today.

Positioned against the likes of the Tesla Model X and future electric crossovers like the Audi Q6 and the Mercedes EQ electric SUV, the Jaguar i-Pace is powered by two 150 kW electric motors on both the axles which are connected to a liquid cooled 90 kW/h lithium-ion battery located below the cabin.

According to Jaguar, the SUV has a range of 354 km on a single charge. Besides that, the battery can be charged up to 80 percent in just 90 minutes.

In terms of power, the i-Pace delivers 400PS and 700Nm of maximum torque.

Clad in Photon Red, the i-Pace, which looks like it was inspired by the F-Pace SUV, also comes with a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a head-up display, plenty of storage space, as well as a 530-litre boot.

Besides the above, there is the virtual instrument panel, a rotary gear selector, Alcantara upholstery with Jaguar paw prints, and a generous dose of wooden trim on the dashboard.

Sitting on the F-Pace’s architecture with a double-wishbone front axle and multilink rear suspension, the i-Pace is all set to enter production and go one sale in 2018, according to Jaguar.
