New 2016 Toyota Corolla Altis Debuts In Thailand – Minor Updates To The Interior

The Thailand market Toyota Corolla Altis has been given some minor updates. Changes are limited to the car’s interior, which now features a slightly different instrument cluster, new air conditioning system with Nanoe, auto folding side mirrors and reclining rear seats (already available on our local models).

At a glance, the new instrument cluster looks almost the same as the previous design. The new design does away with the circular, faint blue highlight around the numerals. The location of several indicator lights have also been repositioned, including the indicator lights for the turn signals, main beams, and check engine light.

The Multi-Information Display now displays in colour rather than black and white, and is quite similar to the ones fitted on the Camry, as well as recent Lexus models.

The air-conditioning system has been upgraded to include Nanoe, which uses electrostatic atomized water particles to not only purify the air, but also reduces skin and eye irritation caused by dry air-conditioned air.

The side mirrors’ folding function is now linked to the car’s central locking, folding and unfolding automatically every time the vehicle is locked and unlocked.

The rear seats can now be adjusted to recline, but this feature is already available on our Malaysian market Toyota Corolla Altis.

Thailand’s Toyota Corolla Altis is only available with either a 1.6-litre (CNG) or 1.8-litre Dual VVT-i engine. The 2.0-litre version, available in Malaysia, has been dropped in Thailand as it would be priced too high under Thailand’s new CO2 emissions-based excise duty structure.
