Renault Megane R.S.280 Cup Launched In Malaysia - EDC Auto And Manual, From RM 280k

Following its preview in April, the Renault Megane R.S. 280 Cup was officially launched in Malaysia today by TC Euro Cars (TCEC), the authorised distributors of Renault vehicles in Malaysia.

Available in two variants, the price of the all-new Megane R.S. is as mentioned below (OTR without insurance):

• Renault Megane R.S. 280 Cup (MT) – RM279,888
• Renault Megane R.S. 280 Cup (EDC Auto) – RM299,888

*There will be an additional RM1,000 for Pearl White, and RM8,000 for Orange Tonic and Liquid Yellow colour.

Powered by a 1.8-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which produces 280 PS and 390 Nm of maximum torque (5 PS and 30 Nm more than the outgoing 2.0-litre engine), the all-new Megane R.S. comes with a choice of either a six-speed manual gearbox, or a 6-speed Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) automatic transmission.

Complementing the powertrain package is Renault’s 4Control four-wheel steering systemwhich comes as standard, which also happens to be a first in class. Plus, there is also the Torsen limited slip differential (LSD).

For Malaysia, the all-new Renault Megane R.S. is available with the Cup chassis, which incorporates a new Torsen mechanical and limited-slip differential for improved handling during acceleration as well as deceleration.

The different shifters aside, both manual and automatic variants of the all-new Megane R.S. have an almost-identical list of features, which includes:

The Megane R.S 280 Cup also comes with a three-year or 100,000km warranty (whichever comes first) and is supported by all 18 authorised Renault Service Centres in Peninsular Malaysia.
