Standard Digital Display In More Stylish And Spacious All-New Audi Q3

The all-new Audi Q3 has made a dramatic shift in concept, from a simple compact crossover to a larger, more comfortable crossover that exudes sportiness.

The striking eight-sided Singleframe grille, which debuted in the emotional Q8 sports SUV, is flanked by compact matrix LED head lamps. S Line variants have sportier front and rear bumper designs with more satin silver and gloss black treatment.

At the rear, the large ‘clamshell’ tailgate that also housed the tail lamps in the old Q3 has been redesigned. Returning to the conventional placement of tail lamps fixed on the car body has increased the tailgate minimum opening width from 1,067 mm to 1,129 mm.

Viewed from the side, the all-new Q3 has pronounced wheel arches over the front and rear wheels. The free-standing door mirrors also contribute to the overall sporty image of the all-new Q3. Massive 20-inch S Line wheels fill up those wheel arches.

Moving inside, the all-new Q3 features Audi’s continued strong push for a digitized environment. Even in standard specifications, the company has ditched analogue dials in favour of their beautifully-made ‘Virtual Cockpit’ 10.25-inch digital instrument panel.

Depending on the variant, the dashboard and doors also have high-quality Alcantara inserts, a rare feature in this segment of premium crossovers.

The infotainment system is now taken care by a 10.1-inch touch display that has a surround that mimics the Singleframe grille, with the centre stack angled at 10 degrees towards the driver.

Other key highlights in the stylish interior include a 15-speaker premium sound system by Bang & Olufsen, 360-degree bird’s eye view parking camera system with park assist, and connected apps through Audi phone box.

Compared to the first generation Q3, the all-new Q3 has grown in every measurable length. Utilizing the Group’s MQB platform, the wheelbase gains the most (+77 mm), and the designers made full use of the longer interior by fitting sliding rear seats that have quite a large range of 150 mm.

Depending on the position of the rear seats, the luggage volume ranges from 530 litres to a massive 1,525 litres. To further improve on the practicality and utility of the all-new crossover, the floor of the luggage area can be adjusted to three levels.

At launch, the all-new Q3 will have an option of four engine choices- three petrol and a diesel. Drive and transmissions remain signature to the premium brand, front or all-wheel drive paired with a manual or seven-speed S-tronic automatic dual-clutch transmissions.

The driving modes now change suspension firmness too, through the optional Audi ‘drive select dynamic handling’ package. S Line variants receive sports suspension and variable-ratio steering as standard.

Safety equipment on the all-new Audi Q3 includes the new adaptive cruise assist. The system incorporated functions of adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, and active lane assist. A pair of rear-mounted radars also provides blind spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert.

The all-new Audi Q3 will begin sales in Europe from November 2018, perhaps making its first public debut at the Paris Motor Show in October or even earlier at the Moscow Motor Show that is scheduled for early September.
