Overview

The Lexus GS is a mid-size sports sedan that slots below the carmaker's flagship LS sedan. Offered here in a total of seven variant, priced between RM439,200 and RM1,010,359 for the M5-rivalling GS F. This model rivals the BMW 5-Series, Audi A6, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Infiniti Q70, Hyundai Genesis, Maserati Ghibli and Jaguar XF.

GS200t: The 2017 Lexus GS200t variants are powered by a 241hp/350Nm turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that is paired to an eight-speed torque converter type automatic transmission. 0-100km/h time and top speed are rated at 7.3 seconds and 230km/h respectively.

GS350: This variant is motivated by a 3.5-litre V6 mill that outputs 311hp at 6,400rpm and 380Nm of torque at 4,800rpm. An eight-speed auto box is in place to transfer the power to the rear wheels. This enables the 2016 Lexus GS350 to accelerate to 100km/h from a standstill 1.3 seconds faster that the GS250, while top speed is 235km/h.

GS300h: Powered by a 2.5-litre inline four-cylinder mill that is good for 178hp and 221Nm, along with a 105kW electric motor, the GS300h has combined system output of 220hp. The transmission employed in this car is an electronically-controlled CVT unit, that is also found in other Lexus hybrid models.

GS F: Under the hood of the GS F is Lexus' familiar naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 engine that is paired to an eight-speed Sport Direct Shift automatic transmission. Power output for this range topping model is rated at 470hp at 7,100rpm and 530Nm of torque, available between 4,800rpm and 5,600rpm. Performance wise it is capable of completing the century sprint in 4.6 seconds, while top speed is rated at 270km/h.
