BMW Celebrates 40 Years At Sebring With This Gorgeous Z4 GTLM

Auto News

At the Amelia Islands Classic Car Auction and Concourse, BMW North America took the sheets off their newest Z4 GTLM racer. What makes this one in particular that bit more special is that its livery harkens back to the classic IMSA 3.0 CSL from the mid-1970s.

Its BMW’s tribute edition to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 3.0 CSL’s iconic overall victory at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1975, who’s drivers, Brian Redman and Allan Moffat, we’re up against some strong competition from the likes of Porsches and Corvettes. Redman’s herculean seven hour stint behind the wheel is what most people believe to be what clinched the win.

Two Z4 GTLMs under BMW RLL will compete in this year’s Sebring endurance race on March 21st, where car number 25 will don the iconic livery worn in 1975 by car number, you guessed it, 25.
