In conjunction with the D-Max’s 15th anniversary in Malaysia, Isuzu Malaysia has launched a special limited edition variant of the pickup truck – the D-Max Stealth Edition.

Based on the D-Max 1.9-litre 4x4 Premium Automatic which was launched last year, the D-Max Stealth Edition’ comes with a generous dose of blacked out components on the exterior, such as the front grille, headlamp, fog lamp and bumper garnish, roof rails, as well as the rear bumpers.

The grille also features a fine silver accent line that flows across the whole front, which is complemented by a matching line that runs across the front spoiler.

Further complementing the sporty exterior are the special 18-inch wheels that are unique to the D-Max Stealth Edition, the embossed “Stealth” emblem and decals, and a tailgate that comes with the feather-touch assist feature.

The coolest feature on the D-Max Stealth Edition however are the retractable side steps which are offered as standard on a pickup truck for the first time in Malaysia. While the steps deploy when a door is opened, they also tuck away neatly when the doors are closed. There are lights on them too.

Inside, the D-Max Stealth gets striking red and black leather and fabric combination seats, with contrasting stitching along with stitched Stealth logos. Besides the seats, the headlining is now dark grey, while the trim garnish are now finished in piano black.

The Isuzu D-Max Stealth also gets front and rear HD digital video recorders (DVR) which come with 32GB SD card, motion detectors, and mobile phone connectivity (IROAD app) through Wi-Fi. There is also an Around View Monitor with 3D Image Guide that uses 4 cameras around the vehicle, offering ease of manoeuvrability to drivers.

Coupled to this is the additional front parking sensor that allows for easier positioning of the vehicle in tight spots. The sensors will automatically activate when the vehicle begins to move and cuts off above speeds of 25/kmh. It will then reactivate when the vehicle slows to 20km/h. Drivers can also opt to shut the system off manually in situations such as during off-roading.

Priced at RM125,799.20 on the road without insurance in Peninsular Malaysia, the Isuzu D-Max Stealth is offered with a 7-year unlimited mileage warranty.
