SPAD Announces 30 Percent Discount For Inter-Town Bus Users Commuting To KL

A 30 percent discount will be given to bus users effective from September 1st, 2015 that reside in Seremban, Klang, and Rawang but commute to Kuala Lumpur as part of a government initiative to ease the travel cost of those living outside of the capital city.

The Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) announced this move as in line with its effort to increase the use of public transport within the population in the hopes that it will encourage more and more people to use public transport and help it become the transport of choice.

These discounts are to be made available for three main travel routes: Seremban – Kuala Lumpur, Klang – Kuala Lumpur, Rawang – Kuala Lumpur, and Bus Expressway Transit (BET) routes 5 and 6.

It offers discounted fares through the purchase of a monthly pass at the counters of participating bus operators.

Daily passengers who buy a monthly pass will be given a discount rate based on the following schedule:

Passengers must fill out an application form to enjoy the discounted rates when purchasing their monthly pass, which can be downloaded from the SPAD website or obtained from the ticket counters of the bus operators involved.
