Tokyo 2015: Toyota Auto Body Creates An Outrageous Convertible Alphard

Auto News

In the weird world of vehicular customizations, there are some pockets that are actually supported by the manufacturer, with license to go bananas with their ideas. Career envy, anyone? And now, our man on the ground has spied upon a most unusual Toyota Alphard while visiting Toyota Auto Body.

Toyota Auto Body is a manufacturing subsidiary of the Toyota Motor Corporation, one that specializes in body engineering, for better or worse. And for this doctored Alphard, which they have called the Alphard Hecule Concept, they’ve gone to town – saying they’ve merged the feel of a marine cruiser and the cabin of a yacht’s deck; there is wood flooring, after all.

Click through the gallery at your leisure, but do indulge in the accompanying descriptive words by Toyota Auto Body themselves. For example, they really want this Hercule to be viewed upon much like a luxury boat. The perfect way to drive to a yacht harbor in southern Europe while sipping champagne with your friends while enjoying the pleasant sea breeze allowed in by the retractable roof.

Its all very atmospherical. We suppose, then, that when the time comes that yachts are owned by many more of the population, this Alphard Hercule Concept will be as popular as the standard MPV is.

Until then, let’s just look at it and imagine.
