It’s been some time waiting, but after 2 years of feverish development basically from scratch, Perodua has done the daunting task of developing and releasing Malaysia’s first homegrown fully electric vehicle. And now, we get to sit in and drive it!
The sporty and somewhat high riding hatchback turns a new leaf for Malaysia’s most prolific automaker, boasting 204PS and 285Nm from a front electric motor and fed by a 52kWh battery.
But here’s the thing, while you can technically purchase the car, the battery is a whole other story. Instead of owning it outright, Perodua will offer the QV-E with a battery subscription model. This is to protect its residual value and ensure long term peace of mind for buyers. Bold move, but will it work?
