Volvo Car Malaysia Ups The Ante By Extending Vehicle Warranty to Five Years

Auto News

While some are giving less in 2021, Volvo is offering more, all without any gimmicks or price increase.

Volvo has just announced that any Volvo cars that have been registered from 1 January 2021 onwards will receive an extended factory warranty from three-years/ 100,000km mileage to five-years/ unlimited mileage.

According to Volvo, this is a renewed commitment to its aftersales services, where this offering is part of their dedication in quality, particularly concerning their vehicles and customer relationship.

Nalin Jain, Managing Director of Volvo Car Malaysia, said, "At Volvo Car Malaysia, every decision we make is designed around the customer's needs and more so to solidify their trust in Volvo. We want our customers to feel supported throughout the ownership of their vehicle and we believe that the new extended factory warranty is a step in the right direction as a premium car brand that is rooted in safety."

This revision of warranty period, as well as the previous announcement in December 2020 where Volvo Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle's (PHEV) are entitled to an extended high voltage (HV) battery warranty period of up to eight-years or 160,000km (whichever comes first), is a show of intent from Volvo Car Malaysia, to ensure that Volvo customers remain confident in Volvo's quality, long-life components.

The only caveat we can find from this programme if there is one is that the Extended Warranty Programme (EWP) is provided by an external insurance partner after the original three year warranty period. But then again, Volvo has always picked the best in partners, so we foresee no issues here.

“Our end goal of this initiative is to allow our valued customers to feel the utmost comfort when driving a Volvo car, free of worries. We allow them to fully experience the innovation and technology that goes into each one of our cars, and by doing so we are able to provide our customers with the freedom to move in a personal, sustainable, and safe way,” concluded Nalin.
