Jetour T1 launched in Malaysia – From RM 129.8k, 1.5 TGDi 2WD and 2.0 TGDi AWD

Jetour Automobile Malaysia has launched its third model, the Jetour T1. The 5-seater model joins Jetour’s SUV-only model line-up, consisting of the Dashing, VT9, and T2.

Prices for the monocoque chassis SUV starts from RM 129,800 for the 1.5 TGDi 2WD variant and RM 146,800 for the 2.0 TGDi XWD variant.

Jetour does not quote complete prices so the figures are excluding not just insurance but also exclude registration fee, inspection fee, hire purchase ownership, and road tax.

Like all Jetour models in Malaysia, the T1 is locally assembled at contract assembler Berjaya Assembly’s plant in Tampoi, Johor.

Within Jetour’s hierarchy, the T1 is positioned below the T2 but don’ assume the T1 to be smaller, because it’s not.

Both the T1 and T2 have similar dimensions and the T2 has an 80 mm longer length only because of it’s rear-mounted utility box. Discount that, they are nearly identical in length. The T2 is 39 mm wider but again, this is because of the T2’s wider wheelarch extensions. The T2 isn’t meaningfully wider than the T1.

Both the T1 and T2 have the same 2,800 mm wheelbase. The main reason the T1 is positioned below the T2 is because it has a lower-priced, smaller engine capacity, front-wheel drive variant.

The 1.5TGDi 2WD is powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine (170 PS / 270 Nm) paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission driving the front wheels. Claimed fuel consumption is 6.8-litre/100 km.

The 2.0 TGDi XWD is mechanically identical to the T2 2.0 TGDi XWD, using the same 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine (245 PS / 375 Nm) paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with all-wheel drive. Claimed fuel consumption is 7.6-litre/100 km.

The T2 is priced at RM 156,800, or RM 10,000 more than the T1 with the same powertrain.

The T1 has a maximum water-wading depth of 600 mm.

Four exterior colours are available – Khaki White, Aviation Silver, Sand Gold, Carbon Black.

The Jetour T1 is covered by a 7-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty, 10-year/1,000,000 km powertrain warranty (engine and warranty). Buyers also enjoy 5 times free service, including parts and labour.

The first 2,000 buyers will enjoy a RM 2,000 cash rebate and low 1.68% interest rate financing.
