ASEAN NCAP: Four-star Rating For All-New Proton Saga

Auto News

The all-new Proton Saga has been awarded a four-star safety rating by ASEAN NCAP ahead of its launch later this month.

Contrary to our earlier expectations, the upcoming all-new Saga did not match the five-star rating performance of its higher range sibling the all-new Persona.

The all-new Saga scored 13.33 out of 16.00 points in Adult Occupant Protection, putting it within the 4-star range. In the area of Child Occupant Protection, it scored 71 percent, also putting it within the 4-star range.

In comparison, the Perodua Bezza, which the upcoming all-new Saga is supposed to compete against, scored 15.38 points in Adult Occupant Protection, and models equipped with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) were given the maximum 5-star rating.

The all-new Saga is expected to be launched by the end of September.
