Live Life Drive

The first production Aston Martin DB11 – the first core car under the brand’s six-year ‘Second Century Plan, has rolled off Aston’s Gaydon production line today, with deliveries to customers commencing in October.

Aston Martin President and CEO, Dr Andy Palmer, who will personally assure the quality by inspecting the first 1,000 cars, said: “It’s an exciting moment for the entire company when the first car of a new model goes into production. The DB11 is a special car and it heralds the start of a new and exciting era for Aston Martin.”

The DB11 is the first of seven new models that will be launched by the 103-year old Aston Martin under its Second Century plan.

Debuting earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show, the DB11 is powered by a 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Developing 608 PS and 700 Nm, it is the most powerful production Aston Martin DB model ever. Sprint from 0-100 km/h is done in 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 322 km/h.

Underpinning the car is an all-new aluminium platform.

There’s also multiple driver-selectable dynamic modes - GT, Sport and Sport Plus - which progressively intensify the response of the engine, 8-speed automatic ZF transmission together with the new electric power steering and Torque Vectoring by braking while increasing the firmness of the adaptive damping for a greater sense of agility.
