Honda's All-New Civic Type R Spotted Testing, Headed For BTCC Debut

所有资讯

Honda’s all-new Civic Type R has held sway over motoring enthusiasts’ conversations ever since it’s Japanese maker decided to tease its arrival. Now, for the 2015 season of the British Touring Car Championship, we get to see it in its racing guise.

The Dunlop MSA BTCC will see this car in competition, which has been undergoing tests at the Brands Hatch circuit and will be officially unveiled at the Season Launch, held at the Donnington Park circuit on March 24th. It will be competing under Honda Yuasa Racing, with final preparations being completed with the help of Worcestershire-based Team Dynamics and Honda UK.

This racing version will produce 350hp and 400Nm of torque from the uprated 2.0-litre turbocharge four-cylinder VTEC engine, along with the requisite weight reduction, revised aero package, and motorsport-grade safety enhancements. No chassis enhancements have been detailed yet, but the team certainly isn’t starting off with a weak base car. Quite the opposite in fact.
