Since its introduction back in 2014, the third generation Nissan Murano remained largely unchanged. That has since been rectified, as Nissan recently introduced the facelifted model at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The mid-life update now gives the Murano a more prominent V-motion front grille, redesigned LED headlights and tail lights, new LED front fog lights, updated 18- and 20-inch alloy wheel designs, and three new exterior colours - Sunset Drift Chromaflair, Mocha Almond Pearl, and Deep Blue Pearl.

Inside, the range-topping Murano Platinum receives new semi-aniline leather seats with diamond-quilted inserts and contrasting trim for the seats, door trims, and centre arm rest. The Murano Platinum also receives a new Dark Wood Tone interior trim finishing. Other grades, including the S, SV, and SL, can choose between Light Wood Tone and Metallic.

Standard on all variants of the Nissan Murano facelift is the Nissan Connect infotainment system with an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

In terms of vehicle safety, buyers of the updated Murano can opt to have the Nissan Safety Shield 360, which includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, and Rear Automatic Braking.

Safety Shield 360 is standard on the Murano Platinum and as an option for the Murano SL. The updated Murano range now feature second row side air bags and front passenger knee air bag as standard.

As before, power comes from a 3.5-litre petrol V6 that does 260 hp and 325 Nm. An Xtronic CVT-type automatic is the sole transmission option, sending drive either to the front wheels or all four wheels via Nissan’s Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system.
