Great Wall Motor Malaysia has officially launched the updated 2026 ORA Good Cat line-up, giving the brand’s distinctive electric hatchback a sharper identity and more choice for buyers. Now available in two variants — the elegant Ultra and the sportier GT — the refreshed Good Cat continues its quirky charm and solid EV engineering that made it one of Malaysia’s most recognisable small electric cars.

  • ORA Good Cat Ultra - RM109,800
  • ORA Good Cat GT - RM119,800

To celebrate the launch, GWM Malaysia is offering an exclusive RM3,000 early bird reward for customers who place their bookings before 31 December 2025. The promotion applies to both variants, with the ORA Good Cat Ultra priced at RM109,800 and the GT at RM119,800. This special incentive, combined with already competitive pricing, makes the new range especially appealing to first-time EV buyers.

Both variants of the Good Cat is backed by GWM with an 8-year or 180,000 km warranty covering the battery, motor, and control unit, along with a 5-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty. Customers will also enjoy five years of free maintenance, while the company’s one-to-one battery replacement policy ensures a new battery pack if health drops below 70%.

The two variants represent distinct personalities of the same fun-loving EV. The Ultra variant now looks more fashionable than ever, sporting a new “So Blue” exterior colour option with a contrasting black roof and black 18-inch alloy wheels. Its multi-tone teal and grey interior should appeal to drivers who prefer a chic, city-oriented EV with plenty of flair. Inside, the Ultra feels bright and youthful, a nod to the car’s modern yet retro-inspired styling.

For those wanting a bit more attitude, the GT version offers a sportier interpretation. It stands out with more aggressive bumpers, yellow-accented alloy wheels, yellow brake calipers, and a suede leather interior with yellow contrast stitching. The cabin exudes a racier ambience without losing the Good Cat’s friendly design character, while still offering a high level of comfort and tech integration.

Under the bonnet, both variants share a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor sending power to the front wheels through a single-speed transmission. The Ultra delivers 143 PS and 210 Nm of torque, while the GT bumps power up to 171 PS and 250 Nm. Both versions are capable of reaching a top speed of 150 km/h. The car’s MacPherson strut front and torsion beam rear suspension setup should deliver a comfortable and composed ride, with selectable drive modes — Normal, Sport, Eco, and Individual — allowing drivers to tailor performance to their liking.

Powering both Good Cats is a 57.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, capable of delivering up to 480 km of range on the NEDC cycle. Charging is flexible and straightforward: a 6.6 kW AC charger can fully recharge the battery in around nine hours, while 60 kW DC fast charging cuts the time dramatically, from 30% to 80% in roughly 38 minutes. Charging management is integrated through the ORA smartphone app, letting owners monitor battery status, schedule charging sessions, and receive completion notifications remotely.

Inside, the Good Cat boast a decently upmarket feeling, tech-focused layout. Both variants feature dual 10.25-inch screens — one serving as a digital instrument cluster and the other as the infotainment display — supporting Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, and MP5 playback. The audio experience is handled by a six-speaker setup that delivers clear sound across the cabin.

Seat materials and comfort differ between variants: the Ultra is upholstered in synthetic leather, while the GT adds suede leather with massage and memory functions for the front seats. Both include electric seat adjustment for the driver, with the GT extending that luxury to the passenger seat as well.

The car’s convenience features are well thought out, including an electronic gear selector, auto hold, an electronic parking brake, and automatic climate control with a PM2.5 air filter. Wireless phone charging, USB ports at both front and rear, and a smart key system with remote functions through the smartphone app further enhance daily usability. Owners can even pre-condition the cabin or check the car’s status through the app — a practical touch for tech-oriented users.

In terms of safety, GWM has equipped both models with a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems. The package includes Adaptive Cruise Control with Intelligent Cornering, Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping and Lane Change Assist, as well as Traffic Sign Recognition and Speed Alarm.

The system also features Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Braking, Blind Spot Detection, and a 360-degree surround camera for parking assistance. Complementing these systems are six airbags, ISOFIX mounts, tyre pressure monitoring, an electronic anti-theft alarm, and remote central locking.

With the new So Blue colour, refined variant strategy, and added focus on both style and performance, the 2026 ORA Good Cat strengthens its position as one of Malaysia’s most endearing and practical small EVs. The Ultra caters to those who value design and comfort, while the GT serves drivers looking for a livelier edge. And with that RM3,000 early bird offer running until the end of December, the Good Cat looks set to pounce once again.
