The Mercedes-Benz A35 AMG was launched in Malaysia in 2019 as a single variant - the Mercedes-AMG A35 4Matic Sedan. The Mercedes-AMG A35 sedan is fitted with the AMG Line styling package, aggressive front air intakes, deep side skirts, rear lip spoiler and twin circular exhaust pipes. The A35 AMG exterior features 19-inch alloy wheels, four-piston monoblock calipers at the front, single-piston calipers at the rear and LED headlights. The A35 AMG interior features twin 10.25-inch screens, Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system, AMG Performance steering wheel in Nappa leather and Dinamica microfibre, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable front sports seats with memory, Artico faux leather and Dinamica upholstery, red seat belts, black-striped aluminum trim, ambient lighting and wireless charging.

The A35 AMG hatchback version was launched in 2020 also as a single variant - the Mercedes-AMG A35 4Matic Edition 1. Although it carries the same engine as the A35 sedan, the hatchback features the Edition 1 package which includes the AMG aerodynamics and Night package. The AMG A35 hatchback adds on twin-louvre radiator grille, AMG Line front apron, a splitter, silver chrome trim, AMG Line sill panels, rear apron with diffuser insert, a raised spoiler and two round tailpipes. The AMG A35 Edition 1 interior features AMG Performance seats in black Artico leather, AMG Performance flat-bottom steerin wheel in nappa leather and aluminium AMG elements in black and silver. 

The CKD locally-assembled version of the Mercedes-AMG A35 sedan was launched in Malaysia in 2022 with additional enhancements. The CKD A35 includes a 360-degree camera, heads-up display, AMG steering buttons, AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather, electrically-adjustable front sports seats with red seat belts and Mercedes-Benz emergency call system.  

The facelifted version of the Mercedes-AMG A35 sedan was previewed in Malaysia in 2024 as a CKD form. The facelift model adds on a 48-volt mild hybrid system and eight-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch transmission. The AMG A35 exterior changes include a more aggressive front bumper, re-designed headlamps, a Panamericana grille, a boot lid spoiler and Multibeam LED projector headlights. The facelifted AMG A35 interior changes include an updated Mercedes-Benz User Experience infotainment system and AMG-exclusive displays.
