The Toyota GR Yaris was launched in Malaysia at the end of 2020 in limited quantities as a 6-speed manual, four-wheel-drive model. The GR Yaris 1.5 is packed with performance tuned MacPherson Strut suspension at the front and Double Wishbone suspension at the rear both with stabilizers, 18-inch BBS Forged alloys wheels, 4-piston monoblock calipers at the front and 2-piston monoblock calipers at the rear. The Toyota GR Yaris exterior features LED headlights, turn signals, daytime running lights, fog lamps and rear combination lamps, auto retractable wing mirrors, rear spoiler, carbon fibre roof, dual sports muffle exhaust and automatic wipers with rain sensor. The Toyota GR Yaris interior features semi bucket front seats with red stitching, rear seats with 60:40 split folding, 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, electrochromic rear view mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 4.2-inch multi-information display, leather-wrapped steering wheel with switches, leather-wrapped gear knob and aluminum foot pedals. The Toyota GR Yaris was updated in 2024 with an additional eight-speed automatic option now available. The GR Yaris has also been upgraded with a Drive Mode Select where the power steering, air conditioning and powertrain changes according to the driving mode. The Toyota GR Yaris exterior changes include steel mesh lower grille, separable side lower bumper, larger openings, side outlets and new tail light cluster. The Toyota GR Yaris interior changes feature a redesigned cockpit and a 12.3-inch colour instrument panel.
