所有资讯Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) today launched Volkswagen Tayron, a 7-seater D-segment successor to the Tiguan Allspace. Malaysia is the first country in Southeast Asia to introduce the Tayron. Only two other countries in the Asia-Ocenia region – India and Australia – have introduce the Tayron.
The Tayron nameplate is new to Malaysia. It was first used on a China-only model in 2018.
For this second-generation Tayron, Volkswagen has developed it as a global model that is also produced at its home base in Wolfsburg, Germany.
The D-segment Tayron is positioned between the C-segment Tiguan and the E-segment Touareg. In Malaysia, where the Tiguan is only available as a long-wheelbase 7-seater Tiguan Allspace, the Tayron will eventually replace the latter. For now, both models are still available.
Globally, the Tayron is available as both a 5- or 7-seater (same wheelbase), with a range of engines including a 1.5-litre eTSI turbocharged mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and non-electrified 2.0-litre turbocharged TSI.
In Malaysia, only the 7-seater, front-wheel drive 1.5 eTSI Elegance and 4Motion all-wheel drive 2.0 TSI R-Line variants will be offered.
Like all Volkswagen models sold in Malaysia, the Tayron is covered by an optional Volkswagen Assurance Package (VAP), which includes a 5-year warranty, 5-year free maintenance, and 5-year roadside assistance.
The 1.5 eTSI Elegance starts from RM 200,760, inclusive of VAP.
Selling price for the 2.0 TSI R-Line will only be confirmed later (currently estimated from RM 259,269, without VAP).
The Tayron 2.0 TSI R-Line will soon replace the 2.0 TSI Tiguan Allspace R-Line, which starts from RM 239,474, without VAP.
Like all Volkswagen models on sale in Malaysia, the Tayron is assembled (CKD) in Pekan.
1.5 eTSI Elegance (from RM 200,760):
