2015 Ford Mondeo: Coming To Malaysia In April, Previewed On Website

The all-new Ford Mondeo will be making its debut in Malaysia this April 2015 as displayed on Ford Malaysia’s website. First previewed at the 2013 Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) as the Ford Fusion, the 2015 Mondeo will come packed with several features.

[UPDATE] Previously we mentioned that the transmission on the Ford Mondeo will be the six-speed dual clutch PowerShift unit but a recent update to Ford Malaysia's webpage reveals that a six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission is in use instead.

First up, the engine: a 2.0-litre four-cylinder EcoBoost petrol engine with direct fuel injection and variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT). That engine is paired to a six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

As for the driving features, electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) is present. To help keep things in check, Ford’s lane keeping aid and adaptive cruise control will be available as well. Illuminating the path ahead are multi-adaptable LED automatic headlamps, whose beams turn to help you see around corners.

On the safety front, five airbags – driver and passenger, driver’s knee, as well as side-curtain airbags can be found. Adding to this is electronic stability control (ESC) and traction control, along with anti-lock braking system (ABS).

Stepping inside, there is a dual zone climate control system and the Ford SYNC 2 touchscreen infotainment system. The screen also doubles as a display for the rear view camera too.

Another interesting feature is Ford’s MyKey. Particularly useful for parents, the key fob can be programmed to remind the occupants inside the car to put on their seat belts, limit the speed of the car, and keep the music volume down. Handy when you’re going to lend the Mondeo to your children.
