All set to take place from the 15th to 17th of March 2019 at the Sepang International Circuit, the Asia GT Festival promises to be a treat not only for petrolheads but also the rest who will be attending.
The organisers of the event today announced that the Asia GT Festival will play host to a Celebrity Bazaar, which will be among the highlights visitors can look forward to during the race weekend.
Organised by Mbits Digital, a local integrated telco and broadcasting startup, the Celebrity Bazaar will feature a series of pop-up stores and marketplace by local celebrities such as Joe Flizzow, Elly Raja Lawak, Linora Low, KTown Clan, and 47 other personalities.
For music fans, there will also be a mini concert by local artists like Joe Flizzow and seven members of the 16 Baris band at 6:30pm on 17 March 2019. Other fun family-friendly activities include as rock climbing, flying fox, food truck culinary experiences, and more.
Another highlight of the inaugural Asia GT Festival is that its grid will see a line-up of 35 GT cars racing round the Sepang International Circuit track.
The grid will be the largest line-up single series GT category in Southeast Asia to date. In addition, the race will feature famous racing carmakers such as AMG, Audi, Ferrari, Bentley, McLaren, Porsche, BMW and more. Malaysian supporters can also root for local drivers including Jazeman Jaafar and Dominic Ang who will be among the driver line-up.
There will also be a hot lap showcase by the one of fastest electric road cars in the world - the NIO EP9. This state-of-the-art electric vehicle is most well-known for shattering the 20km-long Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record clocking a solid 6:45.900.
Last but not least, Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad himself is expected to flag off the Prime Minister’s Saga Cup race on the 17th of March.
