Bermaz launches expanded Mazda CX-60 range, now with 3.3L 6-cylinder AWD variant, from RM 253k

Bermaz Motor has launched a new variant to its Mazda CX-60 range in Malaysia: the 3.3G AWD High Plus.

The 5-seater D-segment SUV is priced from RM 252,872 and is imported (CBU) from Japan. It is powered by the range-topping 3.3-litre inline 6-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 48V mild-hybrid (MHEV, marketed by Mazda as M-Hybrid Boost).

The engine makes a total system output of 280 hp and 450 Nm.

The 8-speed automatic transmission is hooked up to an all-wheel drive system.

Not that Mazda has two different MHEV systems, the Japanese market CX-5 uses a 24V mild-hybrid, marketed as M- Hybrid. This system provides energy recuperation, but it has no motor assist functions. The 48V M-Hybrid Boost used in the CX-60 adds motor assist functions to propel the car.

When the Mazda CX-60 was launched in Malaysia in September 2025, there was only one variant, a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder paired to a front-wheel drive 8-speed automatic transmission.

It’s not the best way to experience the CX-60 because, unlike the transverse engine CX-5 and CX-8, this model is built on a BMW-like longitudinal engine platform. Like many BMWs, this Mazda is best experienced with a 6-cylinder engine. The new 3.3-litre turbocharged variant plugs this gap.

Apart from the engine and AWD drivetrain, the differences between the 2.5-litre 4-cylinder 2WD variant and the 3.3G AWD High Plus are very minor, adding the following:

  • Exclusive design front bumper
  • ‘Inline 6’ badge on the fender
  • Nappa leather upholstery: Tan or Pure White colour
  • Ventilated front seats
  • Hill Descent Control
  • Mi Drive with off-road mode
  • Exclusive exterior colours: Rhodium White, Machine Gray

The CX-60 has two front bumper designs. The 2.5G uses the first design (upper pic), the 3.3G uses a sportier design (lower pic).

Yet, there is nearly a RM 52,000 gap between the two variants. This is because Malaysia’s engine capacity-based import, excise, and road tax structure amplifies the difference in ex-factory (wholesale) prices.

Below is a recap of key features across all variants of the Mazda CX-60:

  • Kinematic Posture Control (GVC Plus for longitudinal engine Mazdas)
  • Mi Drive drive modes -
  • Panoramic glass roof
  • 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster
  • Head-Up Display
  • 12.3-inch central infotainment screen
  • 12-speaker Bose audio system
  • 10-way power-operated driver’s seat with memory function
  • 8-way power-operated front passenger seat
  • Paddle shifters
  • Rear air-conditioning vents
  • Full suite of i-ActiveSense ADAS suite including front and rear cross-traffic alert, plus all-speed adaptive cruise control
  • 360-degree parking camera with see-through view

The Mazda CX-60 is available in seven colour options - Soul Red Crystal, Rhodium White, Jet Black, Platinum Quartz and Zircon Sand, Rhodium White (with Pure White interior, and Machine Gray (with a Tan interior). The last two colours are exclusive for the 3.3G. All other exterior colours are paired with black leather interior.

Like all cars sold by Bermaz, the CX-60 is covered by a 5-year/100,000 km (whichever comes first) warranty. with a 5-year/100,000 km (whichever comes first) free maintenance. The latter includes labour, parts, and lubricants.

Mazda CX-60 prices in Malaysia:

  • 2.5G 2WD High: RM 200,510
  • 3.3G AWD M-Hybrid: RM 252,872
