Ford Ranger Wildtrak V6 is here in Malaysia, new powertrain, more power – priced at RM 192,888

Sime Darby Auto ConneXion – Ford today launched the all-new Ford Ranger WildTrak, which offers more power and torque with additional cutting-edge features.

The Wildtrak V6 variant of the Ford Ranger dual-cab pickup truck comes equipped with a potent 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6 engine, delivering 250hp of power at 3,250 rpm and 600 Nm between 1,750 and 2,250 rpm.

Driveline consists of a 10-speed automatic gearbox and an electronically controlled four-wheel-drive system with active centre differential and locking rear differential, and six driving modes are offered – Normal, Eco (rear-wheel-drive), Tow/Haul, Slippery, Mud/Ruts, and Sand.

Prior to the introduction of the new powertrain engine, Ford's Ranger lineup in Malaysia featured the 2.0L EcoBlue four-cylinder turbodiesel engine in single-turbo and bi-turbo configurations. The single-turbo version offered 170hp and 405Nm, while the bi-turbo variant, which also powered the diesel-equipped Ranger Raptor, produced 210hp and 500Nm.

Exterior kit, on the Ranger Wildtrak V6, includes adaptive matrix LED headlamps with automatic high beam, LED tail lamps and fog lamps, side steps, a sports bar and roof rails, cargo tray with 12-volt and 230-volt power sockets, lift-assist tailgate, V6 badging on the side vents, and 20-inch two-tone alloy wheels.

Inside, the driver and front passenger get eight-way electrically adjustable seats in synthetic leather upholstery, automatic dual-zone air-conditioning for the front row and air-conditioning for the second row, and a 12.4-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety-wise is also equipped with Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Lane Departure Warning with Lane-Keeping Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Lane Centering, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Post-Collision Braking.

Offered in four bold colours: Arctic White, Absolute Black, Luxe Yellow and Meteor Grey, the All-new Ford Ranger WildTrak 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel is available nationwide, priced from RM192,888 (on-the-road without insurance) in Peninsular Malaysia, RM198,688 in Sabah and Sarawak.
