Ford Safety Awareness Initiative Widens Its WebBerita Kereta
Ford and local distributor Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) continue their efforts to raise road safety awareness in Malaysia, by enrolling selected corporate partners and members of the public in its ‘Driving Skills For Life’ (DSFL) initiative.
The latest program included employees from AIG Insurance as well as members of the general public, who participated in two half-day training sessions at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) last weekend.
This is the latest the series of Ford’s DSFL programs, which previously also included college students.
The DSFL workshops are conducted free-of-charge and address various driver risks, such as dealing with unexpected driving scenarios, dangers of using the cell phones while driving, speed management and the importance of ensuring child seats are securely fastened.
DSFL sessions start with a classroom session covering a range of topics from steering control, to speed/space management, distraction awareness, and fuel-saving tips. Participants then move outside for a hands-on driving session to apply what they have learned.
Ford also educate on the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or medication was also incorporated as part of the programme. This part of the programme includes wearing specially designed goggles that help simulate the experience of driving while movement, coordination, and alertness are impaired.
