Utama Berita Berita Kereta Hino launches new 300 Series Euro 5 light commercial vehicles in Malaysia Hino launches new 300 Series Euro 5 light commercial vehicles in Malaysia Berita Kereta Jim Kem https://www.carlist.my/ms/authors/841/jim-kem | October 06, 2025 10:45 AM Hino Motors Sales Malaysia Sdn Bhd (HMSM) has introduced its latest generation of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) — the new Hino 300 Series Euro 5 — at a launch event held at the Hino Total Support Customer Centre (HTSCC) in Sendayan. The unveiling featured two updated models, a 4-wheeler and a 6-wheeler, presented under the theme “Strong, Smart and Smooth for Your Business.” The event brought together dealers, members of the media, and invited guests for an exclusive press conference and a hands-on test drive session. Attendees had the chance to experience the trucks’ improved acceleration, braking, and manoeuvrability on HTSCC’s purpose-built test track, demonstrating the vehicles’ enhanced drivability and real-world performance. The new Hino 300 Series Euro 5 range represents the brand’s latest step toward sustainability and operational efficiency. Equipped with a more efficient powertrain, the trucks now deliver 150 PS and 420 Nm of torque, offering consistent performance with flat torque delivery for smoother long-haul drives and reduced engine strain. Constructed on a reinforced high-tensile steel chassis, the 300 Series Euro 5 provides improved load capacity, rigidity, and durability. An upgraded 80-amp alternator supports power-intensive applications such as refrigerated units — ideal for logistics and delivery operators. “This model is not just a truck. It is our answer to changing customer needs,” said Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) managing director Hiroshi Takahashi. “With better fuel efficiency, more comfort, and a safer driving experience, we want to help our customers grow their business with confidence.” In line with Malaysia’s move toward stricter emission standards, the Hino 300 Series Euro 5 features the brand’s Diesel Particulate Active Reduction (DPR) system, which reduces harmful emissions efficiently — without requiring AdBlue. The DPR system also includes auto and manual regeneration functions, ensuring optimal engine health and compliance with Euro 5 environmental regulations. Safety has also been a key focus in the upgrade. The trucks come equipped with airbags, Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) seatbelts, disc brakes (for the 4-wheeler), and a suite of advanced braking technologies — Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), and Brake Override System (BOS). Furthermore, Hino has equipped both models with Speed Limiter Device (SLD) capability in accordance with the Road Transport Department’s (JPJ) latest safety requirements, supporting the government’s initiative to reduce road accidents and enhance fleet safety. The exterior has been refreshed somewhat with a redesigned front grille, and there's new silver interior trims, power windows, and a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring navigation and smartphone connectivity. Customers can choose between automatic (AT) and manual (MT) transmissions. The AT variant features a sequential gear shift system, making urban driving easier and less tiring, while still allowing manual control for added flexibility. The MT option, meanwhile, features optimised gear ratios for better gradeability — ideal for long-distance and heavy-load applications. Adding to its smart credentials, the trucks now come with Hino-Connect, a telematics system offering real-time fleet monitoring, GPS tracking, driver behaviour analysis, fuel efficiency data, SOS alerts, and service reminders — giving business owners greater operational visibility and control. Every purchase of the new Hino 300 Series Euro 5 includes optional ownership perks through the Hino Membership Programme, offering up to seven years or 300,000 km warranty, towing assistance, exclusive discounts, and free service items. The Free Service Programme further enhances value with five complimentary services covering parts, lubricants, and labour. Customers will also enjoy a three-year complimentary subscription to Hino-Connect for smarter fleet management. To celebrate the launch, Hino is introducing limited-time pre-booking campaigns. Customers who pre-book the 4-wheeler between August 1 and September 30 will receive a free Kangaroo Bar and Reverse Camera, while the 6-wheeler pre-booking period runs from October 1 to November 30. Additionally, a nationwide Euro 5 Open Day Roadshow will take place at selected Hino authorised dealerships, giving customers a chance to test drive the new models, consult directly with Hino representatives, and learn more about the trucks’ Euro 5 benefits. With the launch of the new 300 Series Euro 5, Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) continues to strengthen its position in the commercial vehicle sector — offering businesses across Malaysia a cleaner, safer, and more efficient solution for modern logistics.
