Mansory unveils Ferrari Purosangue-based Pugnator Tricolore – a pug ugly tribute to Italy

At this point, it’s safe to say Mansory is embracing controversy. The tuner, known for its extravagant and deeply polarising designs, has revealed a new limited-edition version of its already outrageous Ferrari Purosangue-based “Pugnator.”

Somewhat fittingly dubbed the Pugnator Tricolore, this new variant somehow manages to turn up the visual absurdity even further— but luckily only three units will be made. Some say that seeing the trio assembled in person will kickstart armageddon or activate some ancient curse, so hopefully they’re sold to separate corners of the globe, and kept safely in a garage, driven only when necessary, and only in the middle of the night.

Unveiled at the Top Marques Monaco show targetting buyers with much less taste than money, the Tricolore takes Mansory’s love of excess to new heights. The exterior is a loud celebration of the Italian flag, blending green, white, and red in some perversely bold fashion. Each body panel appears to scream for attention, from the green forged carbon hood and black wheels with green spokes, to the bright red rear fenders and diffuser made from tinted carbon fiber.

If the front end is wild, the rear borders on pure wackiness. Mansory has equipped the Tricolore with two large wings—one swan-neck spoiler extending from the tailgate, and another perched above the rear window. Together with the aggressive rear diffuser and quad tailpipes, they push the design well past traditional Ferrari’s aggressive yet restrained aesthetics.

The Tricolore also includes all the Mansory hallmarks: massive fender vents, front canards, and bespoke over-the-top bodywork throughout. It rides on 22-inch front and 23-inch rear wheels, adding to its - err - commanding stance.

Inside, Mansory carried over the tricolour theme with plush white leather and vibrant red and green accents throughout the cabin. Uniquely, the colour split changes between driver and passenger sides—red dominates the driver’s side, green the passenger’s, while the gear selector area oddly inverts the Italian flag’s colour order.

Beyond looks, they’ve has also enhanced performance a touch. The Pugnator Tricolore retains the modified 6.5-litre Ferrari V12 found in the standard Pugnator, now producing 755hp and 730Nm of torque thanks to an ECU remap and a sports exhaust system, leading to a modest increase of 40 hp and 14Nm over the stock output.

While the Pugnator Tricolore is presented as a tribute to Italy, it’s one that will likely spark plenty debate among purists, collectors, enthusiasts, or just any human with functioning eyes. Still, for those who appreciate Mansory’s flamboyant approach, this could be the ultimate collector’s piece—assuming they have the stomach for it.

There's just something about cars. It's a conveyance, it's a liability, it's a tool; but it can also be a source of joy, pride, inspiration and passion. It's much like clothes versus fashion. And like the latter, the pursuit of perfection never ends.
