MAS 2025: Zeekr 7X EV previewed in Malaysia - 3 variants incoming from RM182k, up to 646PS, 600km range

The all-new Zeekr 7X has been previewed at the 2025 Malaysia Autoshow that is taking place this week with the premium EV brand announcing 3 variants that kick off from an indicative price of RM182k and extend to RM230k, though the stipulation being that these prices are also reserved for the first 500 customers.

  • Zeekr 7X RWD Standard: RM182,000
  • Zeekr 7X RWD Long Range: RM195,000
  • Zeekr AWD Performance: RM230,000

Following its debut in Thailand in right-hand drive format, it does look like the 7X is still on track to receive the full launch treatment in the Malaysian market. during the 3rd quarter of 2025, though we imagine buyers will be queuing up to be one the first to get their paws on the new model.

Once it does get its full premiere, it will obviously go up against both the Tesla Model Y and BYD Sealion 7 as well as its Geely-group sibling, the Smart #3. The 7X measures 4,825 mm long, 1,930 mm wide, 1,666 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,925 mm, giving it a larger footprint compared to the Tesla, but is shy of the BYD’s more generous dimensions.

Zeekr Malaysia is keeping tight-lipped about more detailed specifications, though in China, the 7X gets either a 75 kWh LFP battery, earmarked for the Standard Range, while the pricier 2 variants should receive the 100 kWh NMC ‘Qilin’ pack. This is in line with teased maximum range of 600km, though this is likely measured against the more lenient CTLC testing scheme.

Extrapolating from overseas variants, we’re guessing both RWD option are driven a single rear-mounted drive motor producing 421 PS and 440 Nm of torque, while the larger capacity NMC battery option can be, and has been, specified with an additional front electric motor in for a truly blistering 646 PS and 710 Nm of torque, allowing a 0-100km/h sprint time of just 3.8 seconds.

Its interior is impressively finished and includes a 13.02-inch digital instrument cluster display paired to a 16-inch infotainment touchscreen that utilises mini-LED display technology. There’s also full Nappa leather upholstery, power-adjustable seats for the front and rear passengers, dual wireless chargers up front, a 21-speaker sound system with headrest speakers.

“We’ve previously showcased the Zeekr 7X in Singapore and Thailand, where the response was overwhelmingly positive. This marks our first appearance at the Malaysia Autoshow, and we are truly excited to present our latest innovation here,” said Mr. Alex Bao, Managing Director of Zeekr Southeast Asia. ““The Zeekr 7X is the next premium luxury SUV from Zeekr, set to redefine the luxury electric SUV segment with its refined design, advanced technology, and uncompromising focus on comfort and performance.”

There's just something about cars. It's a conveyance, it's a liability, it's a tool; but it can also be a source of joy, pride, inspiration and passion. It's much like clothes versus fashion. And like the latter, the pursuit of perfection never ends.
