Mazda Loves the Colour Red

Mazda has had a long history of red. It's the hero colour for a number of their cars, from the MX-5 to the RX-8, and even the more mass-market models like the Mazda 6 and the CX-5. But with each passing generation, Mazda also looks at how to take that paint to the next level- and the latest form of their iconic red paint is the Soul Red Crystal found on the all-new CX-5. It's a deep, glossy red that ranges from dark crimson to bright ruby depending on the light.

But achieving this kind of paint finish is not easy, and if you try buying a Mazda 6 in Soul Red you will usually find yourself on a much longer waiting list. The cars require a special painting process that Mazda recently developed which mimics what can be achieved by a painter doing the process by hand. This is also why the colour is a more expensive option- but to those who have it and get to enjoy it, the option is worth the extra money.
