Utama Berita Berita Kereta New 2026 Xpeng G6 Standard Range BEV launched in Malaysia - RM159,948, 480km WLTP New 2026 Xpeng G6 Standard Range BEV launched in Malaysia - RM159,948, 480km WLTP Berita Kereta Sep Irran Halid https://www.carlist.my/ms/authors/100116/sep-irran-halid | January 14, 2026 10:38 AM Bermaz Xpeng Sdn Bhd has officially expanded its local G6 facelift lineup with the launch of the new 2026 Xpeng G6 Standard Range BEV, which now becomes the cheapest Xpeng G6 you can buy in Malaysia. Priced from RM159,948 (on-the-road excluding insurance), the new Standard Range is around RM20,000 cheaper than the RWD Long Range variant, making it the most accessible entry point into Xpeng’s intelligent electric coupe SUV range. It joins the existing Long Range and AWD Performance variants that were introduced locally in October 2025, completing the refreshed G6 lineup following its recent facelift. According to Bermaz Auto Berhad Group CEO Dato’ Sri Francis Lee, the introduction of the Standard Range reflects Xpeng’s commitment to making advanced BEV technology more accessible to Malaysian buyers, without compromising on the intelligence and innovation that define the brand. Like the rest of the facelifted G6 range, the G6 Standard Range is built on Xpeng’s SEPA 2.0 platform, which integrates vehicle architecture, software and intelligent systems while supporting an 800V electrical system. The Standard Range uses a 68.5kWh battery, which is around 50kg lighter than the battery used in the Long Range variant. Despite the smaller capacity, it retains the same 800V 5C ultra-fast charging capability, allowing a 10-80% charge in just 12 minutes when connected to its highest DC fast charging capability of 382kW (the RWD Long Range also offers the same charging speed despite supporting up to 451kW). Xpeng claims energy consumption as low as 16.6kWh/100 km, with a WLTP-rated driving range of up to 480km (45km lower than the RWD Long Range variant). Real-world usability has also been prioritised, with the vehicle consuming only around 1% of battery per hour when parked with the air conditioning running. Powering the Xpeng G6 Standard Range is a rear-mounted electric motor producing 185kW (251PS) and 440Nm of torque. The lighter battery setup contributes to improved agility and a more responsive driving feel, while suspension tuning has been calibrated to balance ride comfort with stability for everyday driving. Compared with the RWD Long Range variant, which sits higher in the lineup with a larger battery and higher peak output at 296PS, the Standard Range is positioned as a more value-focused option for buyers who prioritise price and daily usability over maximum range and performance. This also explains the 18-inch wheels instead of 20-inch wheels, a manual anti-glare rearview mirror instead of the streaming media rearview mirror, the exclusion of Nappa leather plus suede ceiling pillars, and massage functions for the front seats, all of which are available in the higher variants. Despite being the entry variant, the G6 Standard Range is equipped with Xpeng’s XPILOT Assist intelligent driving suite as standard. With 21.5 TOPS of computing performance, the system supports features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centering Control, Autonomous Parking Assist and Auto Exit Parking Assist. Xpeng says the system is designed to deliver smooth, natural responses in real-world driving conditions, providing helpful assistance without feeling intrusive. With that being said, the Standard Range does not come with a Driving Recorder and Driver State Monitoring as found in the Long Range and Performance variants. Inside, the G6 Standard Range shares the same updated cabin introduced with the facelifted G6. Highlights include a redesigned interior layout, soft touch materials, ambient lighting and a large 15.6-inch central touchscreen running Xpeng’s latest software interface. Convenience features include customisable X Combo settings that allow functions such as ventilated seats to activate automatically, along with a clear and lag-free 360-degree camera system. Rear seat comfort has also been improved with an optimised backrest angle and extended seat cushions. In Malaysia, the G6 Standard Range is offered in five exterior colours comprising Arctic White, Graphite Gray, Midnight Black, Silver Frost and Stellar Purple, with Dark Gray or Light Gray interior options. All Xpeng G6 variants sold in Malaysia are fully imported from China. Buyers can choose between a two-year unlimited charging package via JomCharge or a complimentary 11 kW wallbox with installation by DC Handal. The ownership package also includes a five-year manufacturer warranty or 120,000km, five years of free service and maintenance or 100,000km, and an eight-year high voltage battery warranty with a mileage limit of 160,000km. Local pricing for the Xpeng G6 range is as follows (OTR without insurance): Xpeng G6 RWD Standard Range RM159,948 Xpeng G6 RWD Long Range RM180,013 Xpeng G6 AWD Performance RM191,523 Xpeng G6 AWD Black Edition RM195,523 The new Xpeng G6 Standard Range will be showcased at the Xpeng Roadshow from 14 to 18 January 2026 at LUXE, 1 Utama Shopping Centre.
