Spyshot: All-New 2019 Ford Ranger Interior Captured

Spy photographers have managed to capture the interior and engine bay of the upcoming 2019 Ford Ranger for the first time ever, allowing us a better look at the company’s new global pickup truck.

Ford is planning to re-introduce the Ranger back to the United States after it was discontinued in 2012. Actual timeframe has yet to be disclosed, though it is expected that Ford will be introducing the Ranger in the US around the same time as the launch of the global Ranger’s mid-life update.

The interior design is largely similar to the outgoing global Ford Ranger, down to the elongated air-conditioning vents with bronze trim. This is logical as Ford would want to reduce development costs for an outgoing model.

Our spy photographer mentioned that this test mule is likely going to be sold as the Ranger FX4 in the United States, as this particular Ranger appears to be more rugged in appearance than other spied models, with different wheels and a front skid plate. Front tow hooks are also visible on this test mule.

The new Ranger FX4 is expected to be positioned above the regular Ranger, but below the Wildtrak and Raptor. 

Elsewhere, the engine bay of the 2019 Ford Ranger has also been revealed, though with the amount of sensors make it difficult to identify the actual unit used.

Closer to home, Sime Darby Auto Connexion in April introduced the Ranger FX4, powered by the current model’s 2.2-litre turbodiesel that churns out 158 hp and 385 Nm.
