Toyota’s Street Fighter Themed C-HR Commercial is a Must-Watch for 90s KidsBerita Kereta
Street Fighter video game was without a doubt one of the biggest phenomenon of the 90s era. Although it has been decades since the game first made its debut, memories are still fresh in the minds of who have played the game during the glory days of Micro Genius console.
In fact, newer interpretations of the game are still being released for Playstation and Xbox and they are still turning out to be hits among fighting game enthusiasts.
That being said, Toyota, in an effort to further increase the popularity of its latest compact SUV; the C-HR around the world since, well, it is going for sale in many parts around the globe, shared a cool commercial video of the crossover last week.
What happens in the video titled ‘Crossover the World’ is that Street Fighter character Ryu purchases the Toyota CH-R, gets E.Honda to wash it, and goes around the globe, getting approval from the other characters like Blanka, Sagat, Chun Li and Zangief along the way before ending up in a boss fight where the CH-R totally kicks M.Bison’s butt.
Although there are not much of the C-HR’s features for us to look at in the video, it is without a doubt, among the coolest to come from the manufacturer in recent times.
First unveiled at last year’s Geneva Auto Show, the C-HR, which has been previewed in Thailand, suggests that Toyota is plotting an entry into the fast-growing compact crossover segment to take on the likes of the hugely popular Honda HR-V and Mazda CX-3.
Underpinned by Toyota’s New Global Architecture (TNGA) modular platform, the C-HR will be available with a trio of four-cylinder petrol engines – 1.2-litre turbocharged, 1.8-litre hybrid, and 2.0-litre naturally aspirated. Transmission options consist of a 6-speed manual and CVT. Which of these combinations will be selected for the ASEAN region is unclear at this stage.
