I have driven this car since new having bought it from Lexus Malaysia andit now has almost 150,000 km on the odometer. Performance Let me put it out there that despite Lexus' claims of the IS250's sporting aspirations, it is not at all a sporty car... neither the handling nor the smooth V6 indoors you to really push the car very hard. It is however, the most reliable, comfortable, workhorse of a car that i have ever owned (ej civic, s15, e46, fd2r). This car has never left me stranded with any failures, nothing a regular service and some TLC will not fix. Maintenance Regular oil changes (6litres of fully synthetic oil) normal wear and tear items (brake pads, filters, gaskets, sparkplugs) are all ive ever had to do with this car. Touch wood, no mechanical failures yet. Fuel economy I pump the 60 litre tank with Ron95 only. Town driving nets me approximately 410km per tank. On the highway, the best I've gotten was 700km from Melaka to Penang to Ipoh. Interior & Storage The interior now feels a little dated but all buttons and switchgear are ergonomically located. The leather has held up surprisingly well and the soundproofing is excellent. Now that i have a child, im finding the car a little bit small once a car seat is installed. Also, the rear seats do not fold down for extra boot storage. A small problem if you have are packing for a long trip with many family members. Exterior The fact that there are a lot less IS' on the roads as compared to BMW 3s and Merc C classes, i feel the look has held up a lot better. I suspect this is due to badge snobbery but having owned a BMW and ridden in a lot of Mercs, the IS lacks nothing compared to its continental compatriots. It's unfailing reliability, comfortable ride and excellent Mark Levinson sound system still holds up well despite its age. I mourn the day i need more space and have to change her for something else. Timesless design profile with upholding status value for the age it has gone thru from 2006 to 2013. The reliability and sustainable of V6 engine, producing 206hp with 264nm torque, provide adaquate power and torque delivery on par with todays most turbo charged vehicle nowadays. Feel buteery smooth and comfortable drive as always. An interior which never fail to amaze on how detail and fitment finish of a Lexus quality would expected. A 8 years old would still provide the feel of solidness and quiet ride on top of that. As part of Toyota, Lexus provide much higher standard, which contribute to higher quality and as always, remain the reliability of a Toyota vehicle should be. Satefy is never comprpmised by Lexus anyhow, 8 airbags is in most every corner of the car, protecting occupants with extra safety sense mechanicals. You will never find Luxury, Reliability and Safety in more of a comprehensive package with a Mercedes or BMW but from Lexus Kurang

Pressing the pedal gives am exhilirating trill to the senses as you run on the roads and wind up and down the hilly roads of Cameron highlands. The only down side is the height of the car and the lack of leg room for the rear passengers. Still whether one takes it to work, runs in circles on weekends or pick the kids from school it fits almost every aspect for that daily drive without ever feeling bored or tired. Just dont try to fit that new 42" tv in the boot, home deliver it instead or get an SUV. Kurang
