In 2016, UMW Toyota Motor simultaneously launched both the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire models. The Toyota Vellfire 2.5-liter version, priced at RM355,000, featured a single standard variant with front-wheel drive and a CVT-type automatic transmission. It was powered by a 2.5-liter Dual VVT-i engine, generating 180 PS at 6,000 rpm and 235 Nm at 4,100 rpm, utilizing either a Continuously Variable automatic Transmission (CVT) or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Vellfire was equipped with various amenities, including LED headlamps with cornering lamps, a leather-wrapped black wood grain steering wheel with audio controls, an Optitron instrument panel with a 4.2-inch TFT LCD screen, keyless Smart Entry with a push-start engine ignition button, power-operated tailgate, and power-operated sliding doors on both sides. Safety features included 7 airbags, electronic traction and stability control (VSC, TRC), ABS, and hill-start assist.

The Toyota Vellfire 2.5-liter model was presented as a sportier-looking MPV, offering a blend of performance, convenience, and safety, with a competitive car price point in the Malaysian market.

Facelift Vellfire 2018

In January 2018, bookings opened for the updated Toyota Vellfire, showcasing exterior enhancements, including fresh LED headlights, daytime running lights, and grille, while the rear featured refreshed LED taillights.

The model was equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 180 PS and 235 Nm, mated to a CVT automatic transmission driving the front wheels. The Vellfire interior boasted new features like a Qi wireless charger, automatic air conditioning with a nanoe air purifier, a Full Display Monitor-type rearview mirror, black leather seats, captain seats with power recline, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and comprehensive safety equipment.

At the time of its launch, the facelifted 2018 Toyota Vellfire car price in Malaysia was RM350,800, excluding insurance, making it a well-appointed and safety-conscious choice in the market.

Upgraded Toyota Vellfire 2020

UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has introduced upgraded 2020 models of the Alphard and Vellfire premium MPVs. The Vellfire is now available in a single variant, the Vellfire 2.5L car price in Malaysia was at RM383,000. The updates include advanced safety and connectivity systems, such as Toyota Safety Sense (TSS), a Parking Support Brake System, 9-inch AVX Infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Front & Rear Digital Video Recorder (DVR), Vehicle Telematics System (VTS), and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

These enhancements align with UMWT's 360-T New Brand Experience Strategy emphasizing safety and connectivity. The Parking Support Brake System provides intelligent parking assistance by detecting obstacles during parking, applying brakes and reducing engine power to prevent collisions. The VTS system offers continuous GPS/GSM tracking for location, aiding recovery in case of theft and monitoring vehicle conditions.

Toyota Vellfire 2023 AGH40

The latest generation of the Toyota Vellfire 2023, the  AGH40, has been officially launched in Malaysia, carrying a price tag of RM 438,000 (on-the-road, excluding insurance). Compared to Vellfire 2022, the notable updates of the Vellfire 2023 include new Tri-LED headlights, sequential indicator lights, front LED fog lamps, and Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) with a unique crystal effect, contributing to its 'Forceful x IMPACT LUXURY' design language. The rear showcases fresh LED taillights, with neatly integrated tailgate buttons for a streamlined appearance. The Vellfire 2023 offers a choice of three body colors: Platinum White Pearl, Precious Metal, and Black, and it features 19-inch wheels.

Comparing the new model to its predecessor (AGH30), it's evident that the 2023 Toyota Vellfire is larger, measuring 5,005 mm in length (75 mm longer) and 1,950 mm in height (55 mm taller), while maintaining its 1,850 mm width and 3,000 mm wheelbase.

In the interior of the 7-seater Vellfire, you'll find synthetic leather seats, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel with wood grain details, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and leather upholstery on the door panel, dashboard, gear lever, and center console. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with safety features, including 6 airbags and the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) 3.0 ADAS suite, encompassing features like pre-collision system, lane departure alert, dynamic radar cruise control, road sign assist, adaptive high-beam system, blind spot monitor, and rear cross traffic alert. It also boasts an upgraded front camera with enhanced radar sensors for improved parking and maneuvering in tight spaces.
