BMW M4 G82

The second generation BMW M4, which was unveiled in 2020, sports an all-new full-height grille, similar to the 4 Series. The BMW M4 chassis sports numerous structural upgrades and bespoke suspension. The aluminum front is fitted with strut lower braces, vertical bracing and single-piece shear panel with integrated side braces. The centre and rear sections have been modified with a crossbar, while the rear has additional stiffening measures and a subframe. The BMW M4 retains the basic features needed for high performance, with lower centre of gravity, wider front track and standard-fit adaptive M suspension. The front double-joined MacPherson struts come alongside aluminum wishbones and torque arms, to maintain its lightweight feature. The BMW M4 features blue calipers and comes with an optional black or red finish. Carbon-ceramic brakes with gold calipers are also available as an option. The M Dynamic Mode is used for stability control while the traction control system is integrated into the ECU. The M Drive Professional, which is available in the M4 Competition, is also an option which adds a M Traction Control function, a lap timer and a drift analyser. The signature BMW kidney has horizontal grille slats which are in high-gloss black together with the lower edges of bumpers, side sills, edge bindings of diffuser, diffuser, mirror caps and rear spoiler. The BMW M4 also features a BME Individual high-gloss Shadow Line and CRF roof with aerial bulge and moldings in high-gloss black. The tailpipe is finished in Black Chrome. BMW M4 Competition M xDrive 

The all-wheel drive (AWD) BMW M4 Competition M xDrive was launched in Malaysia in 2022. The M4 Competition M xDrive is significantly pricier than the standard M4 Competition as it features an electronic multi-plate clutch for variable torque distribution and has three modes - 4WD, 4WD Sport and 2WD. The M xDrive also includes a transfer case control unit, wheel slip control, double-joint spring strut front axle and suspension geometry, engine oil supply system and custom steering ratio. The BMW Innovation Package is included in the M4 Competition M xDrive. The M4 Competition M xDrive has the same engine specifications as the standard M4 Competition, though it can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and has a maximum speed of 290 km/h with the M Driver’s Package.      

BMW M4 CSL

The BMW M4 CSL was produced as the replacement of the first generation BMW M4 GTS. The BMW M4, with the same engine as the standard BMW M4 Coupe, produces a maximum output of 550 PS with the same maximum torque. This is due to the increase in charge pressure from 1.7 to 2.1 bar combined with the use of an indirect intercooler. The BMW M4 CSL is also 100 kg lighter than the M4 Competition with M Carbon bucket seats, no rear seats and the use of carbon fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP) for its  interior, while the exterior uses light-alloy wheels, springs and struts, making it ideal for track racing. The BMW M4 CSL also uses CFRP for the bonnet, splitters and boot lid. The BMW M4 CSL has been enhanced with cast aluminum front-end strut braces to improve agility and steering precision, M suspension with electronically controlled dampers, M version integrated braking system, electromechanical M Servotronic steering with variable ratio and lowered height to lower its centre of gravity. The BMW M4 CSL comes in three driving modes - Road, Sport and Track. The BMW M4 CSL exterior sports a new grille, large splitters, carbon bonnet, red accents, yellow daytime running lights and light threads woven into the rear tail light. The BMW M4 CSL interior also adds M Alcantara steering wheel, red accents, stitching and CSL badges and two helmets. The BMW M4 CSL has the same display systems as the standard BMW M4, though it only has single-zone climate control air-conditioning.
