Second Generation Audi R8 (Type 4S)

The second generation Audi R8 was introduced in 2015 and is based on the Lamborghini Huracan. The Audi R8 was introduced in two engine forms - the Audi R8 V10 and Audi R8 V10 Plus. The Audi R8 is 50kg lighter than the first generation with the combined use of aluminum and carbon fibre reinforced plastics to reduce the weight of the R8. The Audi R8 exterior is fitted with a six-point front grille, trapezoidal headlamps, large air intakes, trapezoidal exhaust outlets, extendable rear spoiler (fixed carbon fibre spoiler for the R8 V10 plus) and 19-inch wheels. The Audi R8 received a facelift in 2018 for both its Coupe and Spyder forms. Audi R8 e-tron

The Audi R8 e-tron is the electric vehicle version of the Audi R8. Audi uses a Combined Charging System (CCS) which allows charging with direct and alternating current, allowing the R8 to be fully charged in less than two hours. The Audi R8 production ended in 2016 with less than 100 units produced.

Audi R8 Spyder

The Audi R8 Spyder is the convertible version of the Audi R8. The Audi R8 convertible carries the same engine as the Audi R8 Quattro, but achieves a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 3.6 seconds for the R8 V10 and 3.3 seconds for the R8 V10 plus. The Audi R8 Spyder is fitted with a honeycomb grille, carbon fibre-reinforced cover, honeycomb mesh trim between the tail lights. The Audi R8 V10 RWD was introduced at the end of 2019 in both Coupe and Spyder forms and is the rear-wheel drive version of the Audi R8. The R8 RWD Coupe achieves a 0-100 km/h sprint time in 3.7 seconds while the Spyder does the same in 3.8 seconds. The Audi R8 exterior and interior looks relatively similar to the quattro models, but has a unique suspension setup and control system to allow for ‘controlled drifting’ when sports mode is activated. The R8 V10 performance RWD was introduced at the end of 2021 and replaced the existing R8 V10 RWD. The Audi R8 V10 performance RWD added an optional Dynamic steering system for a more precise reaction and feedback during cornerings. The R8 V10 performance RWD exterior is fitted with a front grille with matte black finishing, a front splitter, rear outlet grid and oval tailpipes. The R8 V10 performance RWD interior includes a 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit digital instrument cluster, leather steering wheel and leather and Alcantara upholstery. 

Audi R8 GT

The Audi R8 GT RWD is the lighter, faster and more powerful version of the Audi R8. The Audi R8 GT adds on a Torque Rear Drive Mode to help with controlled and precise oversteer. The traction control system offers Level 1 up to Level 7 which can be adjusted on the steering wheel. The Audi R8 GT is much lighter than the other R8 models to offer more power with lightweight wheels, ceramic brakes and a front anti-roll bar made from carbon-fibre reinforced plastic.
