In comparison, the CX-5's key rivals, including the Honda CR-V and Nissan X-Trail sees an entry price of RM142,200 and RM137,000, respectively. Moving one level up is the Mazda CX-5 2.0 GLS 2WD. Here, this variant could be priced from RM150,291. The high specced CX-5 offers some advanced safety technologies over its sibling, namely Adaptive Front-Lighting System (AFS), Smart City Brake Support (SCBS, Forward direction only), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA). The sole 2.5L Mazda CX-5 is likely to be a 2WD-only variant, tentatively priced from RM164,886. Safety equipment is expected to largely mirror that of the CX-5 2.5 GLS. On top of the petrol-powered variants, Bermaz will be introducing two diesel-powered CX-5 variants - the CX-5 2.2 GLS 2WD and CX-5 2.2 GLS 4WD. Both diesel variants will share identical safety equipment, which adds Adaptive LED Headlights (ALH), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Smart City Brake Support (SCBS, Forward and Rear direction) and Driver Attention Alert (DAA). The 2WD diesel-powered Mazda CX-5 could be priced from RM171,539, while the 4WD model could be priced from RM182,139.All prices quoted are inclusive of one year roadtax, GST and registration fees.
