Carmakers Play Their Part in Battling the COVID-19 Situation

In a show of support towards nationwide efforts to tackle the COVID-19 outbreak situation, carmakers and key players in the automotive industry are playing their part by providing support in many ways to the government, the front liners, as well as to the people.

The Naza Group of Companies for instance, just donated RM1.25 million to the Government’s COVID-19 fund a couple of days ago.

Proton on the other hand, also did its part to support Malaysia’s front liners by providing 50 units of the X70 SUV to the Ministry of Health.

It is said that the vehicles will be used to ferry medical workers to and from work, as well as to any hot spots in the country that is in need of urgent attention.

The MBM Resources Berhad (MBMR) automotive group, which specializes in distributorship and dealership of international vehicle brands and automotive parts manufacturing in Malaysia, has also contributed to the cause, by offering a RM300,000 medical donation to support the nation’s healthcare system in the ongoing battle against the novel coronavirus COVID-19.

Channelled through the Sumbangan Perubatan Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM), the allotted contribution will go towards the purchase of medicines, medical equipment and other medical necessities to ease the increasing weight experienced by hospitals around Malaysia.

In an effort to make life easier for the people, brands like Honda, Toyota, Lexus, as well as Perodua have announced that the factory warranty of their vehicles will not be affected should the cars experience technical issues during the MCO period.

Besides that, owners of vehicles under these brands which are still under warranty, and are due for servicing during the MCO period don’t have to worry as they can get it done one the MCO is over.
