Edaran Tan Chong Motor Launches The 2015 Nissan Safety Campaign

The 2015 Nissan Safety Campaign was launched by Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) recently at Legoland Malaysia Resort.

As part of ETCM’s corporate social responsibility, the Nissan Safety Campaign was developed with the goal of raising safety awareness as well as enhancing road safety skills and knowledge not just for Nissan customers, but for members of the general public as well.

Adults and children can be a part of this campaign through two individually-catered programmes – the Kids Safety Carnival ‘My First Safety Programme with Nissan’ and Safety Driving Experience.

The Kids Safety Carnival is conducted by Captain K. Balasupramaniam, founder of the Road Safety Marshal Club and includes a new initiative for 2015 called ‘Fire Escape’ that focuses on educating participants on how to handle fire safety and emergency evacuation survival skill.

Executive Director of ETCM, Dato’ Dr. Ang Bon Beng said the tremendous response for previous Safety Campaigns was the driving motivation to continue with another this year. He said, “It has been extremely heartening to see how the Nissan Safety Campaign has grown from strength to strength over the years with the support from our customers. This year we are focusing on educating the younger generation with basic safety knowledge through fun and creative activities. After all, they are the future of our nation.”

In an effort to reach out to a wider audience, the Kids Safety Carnival will be extended throughout Malaysia. All the Kids Safety Workshop events are free of charge and open to the public. The full schedule is as below:

  • 18 April – Legoland, Johor
  • 9 May – ETCM Bayan Lepas, Penang
  • 23 May – ETCM Kuantan, Pahang
  • 13 June – ETCM Glenmarie, Selangor
  • 15 August – ETCM Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
  • 22 August – ETCM Kuching, Sarawak

The year’s Safety Campaign will conclude with a Safety Driving Programme for Nissan owners in September 2015 with a yet to be disclosed venue. Nissan owners who do wish to attend may contact ETCM’s Customer Relations Department at +603-4047 8788 or send an email request to crd@tanchonggroup.com. Entries are subject to a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis.
