FCA Kills Off The Dodge Viper, Shuts Down Conner Plant

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, the parent company of Dodge will be shutting down its Conner Assembly Plant in Michigan. As a result, production of the iconic Dodge Viper will cease.

Come 31 August, FCA will close the doors to its Conner Plant, which currently employs 80 workers to hand build the Viper. In an agreement signed with the United Automobile Workers (UAW) back in 2015, FCA will end production of the Viper. Workers at the Conner Plant will be offered positions at other locations.

In 2016, FCA sold just 630 Dodge Vipers.

According to a report by Autonews, FCA was forced to cease production of the Viper as the car could not meet new safety regulations that will go into effect on 1 September.
