Geely SX11 To Be Known As The Binyue

Known internally as the SX11, Geely’s newest subcompact crossover will be officially known as the Geely Binyue (缤越).

The Geely Binyue is the second model after the Binrui to sit on the company’s latest BMA platform. In terms of dimensions, the new Binyue comes in with a length of 4,330 mm, width of 1,800 mm and a height of 1,609 mm. Geely also added that the wheelbase is 2,600 mm, putting the Binyue shorter than the Honda HR-V (2,610 mm), Toyota C-HR (2,640 mm), and Renault Captur (2,606 mm). Despite that, the Binyue’s wheelbase is longer than the Peugeot 2008 (2,538 mm) and Mazda CX-3 (2,570 mm).

Under the hood lies a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that does 177 hp and 255 Nm, hooked up to a wet-type 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. This powertrain combination allows the all-new Binyue to complete the century sprint in just 7.9 seconds.

As for the Binyue’s exterior, it’s safe to say that the new subcompact SUV looks like a mini Boyue, down to the side profile with the raised window at the rear. The signature Geely ‘expanding cosmos’ grille is also present here, surrounded by a pair of sharp headlights. Below the headlights are the front foglights with swollen surrounds, giving the Binyue a sportier appeal.

Inside, the all-new Binyue features a modern interior with a floating touchscreen infotainment display. While Geely has yet to release further details of their new subcompact SUV, we can spot an electric parking brake with auto hold, multifunction steering wheel, and a digital instrument cluster.

Geely is expected to launch the all-new Binyue later this year.
