Honda Teases Production Version Of Honda BR-V

Here’s another look at the Honda BR-V, a seven-seater SUV that is positioned below the Honda HR-V. The car was first previewed at the Gaikindo International Auto Show in Jakarta in August, ahead of the car’s planned introduction in 2016.

The BR-V model seen in this picture, quietly released in a low-key announcement of Honda’s Indonesian subsidiary PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM)’s new engine test bench facility, looks a little different from the prototype model seen in August (below).

The most obvious difference is the new grille, which appears to be finished in a different polished aluminium-like material, giving it a rather Acura-like look. The prototype model shown in Jakarta earlier wore a more reflective, almost glass-like material on the grille.

Those wheels also appears to be quite similar to the 17-inch ones fitted on the Indonesian-market HR-V.

The lower front bumper also loses to garnish trim that was fitted on the prototype model.

This model also appears to have only body-coloured door handles rather than the chrome ones fitted on the prototype.

Originally, the seven-seater BR-V is planned to be priced below RM100,000, and was expected to launched in Malaysia in 2016. However looking at the current forex situation, we won’t be surprised if the plans are being reviewed.
